However the cards can become unable to perform as the manufacturer originally intended through errant code or other means (example an errant static charge). The XP Detonator returns the card bac k to the original manufactured product and state (provided an original backup of the product was made) this is the intended use of this product do not use this product for illegal purposes. XP Detonator, the fastest and most reliable hu unlooping product, attempts high speed adjustment of speed and voltage combined with intelligent card probing for valid entry points. Once a valid entry point is obtained, code is placed on the card to allow it to return to its original manufactured state using a backup copy of the card (BIN). OVERVIEW: After starting the program, a Please Insert Card message will appear. The XP Detonator attempts to first probe the card to determine its state, the message probing will appear during this process. After probing, the card will be continuously tested at various points to find valid entry points the message Testing will appear during this process. If potential entry points are found, the message Heartbeat found will increment for each potential entry point. Entry points do not necessarily mean that repair can be successful, only that an entry point many times entry points lead to dead ends and thus the process continues without success. The process can continue for several minutes, and in some cases may exceed 15 minutes for more difficult ca rds. Review the ADVANCED section for more tips on faster repairs. OPERATION: 1. Plug XP Detonator to power source using either the provided PS2 connector or the external power supply (which ever your unit has) 2. Connect the XP Detonator to your Computers COM port (note the com port number for program use). 3. Start the XpDetonator.EXE program by selecting the START button, RUN, and type A:\XpDetonator.exe to run the program. 4. Verify that the correct COM port is selected on the program main screen. 5. Set the initial STARTING DAC to 70 and set the 4b option if required. 6. Wait for the Insert Access Card message and insert the access card. 80% of the time the unlooping process generally takes less than 60 secon ds, however it can take more than 15 minutes for difficult cards. 7. When the Xp Detonator has found the correct entry point, it will prompt you to load the valid backup of the card, select the valid BIN file and press OK to repair card. 8. Remove card. ================================================================================ ========= ADVANCED SECTION ================================================================================ ========= 1) The "XP Power-Glitch". (a.k.a "rudy1's Trick") During the unit receiving many rapid heartbeats, and no valid entry poi nt occurs, you can VERY quickly rapidly pull out and re-insert the card into the u nit. This will cause the unit to "Power-Glitch" the card, and has a high success rate of causing a 'load valid bin' file message to occur. 2) Starting DAC adjustment Some PC's have differing voltage levels (it can even vary during us e!). This causes the unit to function better at different voltage levels. D uring the repair process carefully note the first two digits of the heartbeat testing process - these are the current DAC level. If you notice that many heartbeats occur at specific set of numbers you may want to change your starting DAC to that number or closer to that number. This can easily assist in repairing cards that do receive heartbeats but do not recover, and may speed the overall repair process for other cards. Starting DAC can only be adjusted while the unit is idle not testing. ================================================================================ ========= TROUBLE SHOOTING ================================================================================ ========= SYMPTOM: Error Writing to Unlooper PROBLEMS: Unlooper power or com cable became disconnected during operation, Card was removed or unconnected during operation. SOLUTION: Check all connections to Xp Detonator, Take out Access Card and clean the contacts (rubber erasers work well use CAUTION) SYMPTOM: Cannot return heartbeat from card. Cannot Unloop PROBLEMS: Card has dirty Connectors, Card inserted into Unlooper incorrectly, C ard is Dead SOLUTION: Clean card connectors, Ensure proper card insertion. If these solutions fail the card is dead and cannot be repaired SYMPTOM: Long time to repair -or- many heartbeats with no repair -or- poor rep air rate PROBLEMS: computer serial port voltage, PS2 power voltage SOLUTION: Each computer has slightly different voltage in its serial ports. Thi s voltage is critical to the use of the equipment. Laptops for instance, genera lly have less voltage than a stand alone PC - thus you may need to experim ent to find the optimal use of your equipment on your hardware. Solutions that have m ade a difference are 1) Using no other PS2 item during the repair proces s (example do not use the plug in mouse) 2) using external power supply at oth er voltages 7.5, 9 (optimal), or even 12 (for a limited time ONLY - not de signed for 12). voltage and 1000MA power supply can make a difference.
